A new Mandala class is coming up, on August 27-29, at the Mendocino Art Center.
I teach a 3 day Mandala Class whenever I am not too busy doing other things and whenever at least six people commit to doing it. I usually rent the Civic Club in Garberville, CA. which is a quiet pleasant space, but I am open to other options.
The cost is $175 for the 3 day workshop which includes silk and dyes.

Independent work after the class
The class involves drawing an original 23" Mandala on paper and then painting it on silk. Each step is guided and no previous art experience is necessary, though it would also be an interesting class for seasoned artists and silk painters.
We begin with a slide show of painted Mandalas (geometrically balanced circles and squares), then do a guided visualization in search of a healing image, then draw the image and by copying and making multiples, arrange it in a circle, cutting and pasting.
The next day we finish the drawing and learn to transfer the image to silk stretched on a frame by tracing it with gutta serti resist. We then do a color meditation and discussion and begin to paint with silk dyes.
On the third day we finish the piece and steam it to set the color.
Participants have expressed much appreciation for the experience of the class and have come up with beautiful pieces as you see here.
